Is there anyone here who uses SEW drives for their reducers? Is there any related instruction manual? How should they be maintained on a regular basis? I have nearly 20 mixing units here that use different models of reducers, and there are no spare units available; if any of them break down, production will have to stop
They were widely used in factories in the past; there were many models from Flender and SEW. Such equipment generally doesn’t break down – just change the oil regularly, pay attention to the oil seals to prevent leaks. We didn’t have a backup unit before either; we only had some spare parts.

It doesn’t break down often either; SEW’s equipment is really good. I’ve been using equipment from that company for about 10 years now, and back then it used skeleton seals – I’m not sure if there have been any improvements in that regard. Skeleton seals are easy to find, so it’s simple to keep some on hand.
SEW rarely has problems; I guess by the time one does occur, you’ll no longer be working at this company.:)
