Now that more and more people are exposed to vane pumps, it has been found that in most cases the rotation direction of the pump is such that, when looking at the pump from the motor side, the pump rotates in a clockwise direction. What is the reason for this?

I disagree with this view. Generally, the rotation direction of a pump is determined by the design of its impeller; reversing the impeller results in lower performance, flow rates and pressures that do not meet the required standards, and it can also cause the impeller nuts to loosen or even lead to the impeller coming loose.

As for which direction is used more often, it is probably due to *habit and convention. Of course, for a specific operating condition, considering the installation location, a different steering angle might be preferable.
Your thoughts are similar to mine; I suspect there are factors in this regard – it’s just a matter of finding the right opportunity
The thread direction of the impeller nut is a factor that matters; for pumps driven by motors, the impeller nuts of pumps that rotate clockwise should have a right-hand thread, which facilitates manufacturing
Indeed, most centrifugal pumps that I’ve seen come with this orientation by default; I’m not entirely sure about the reason for this, and I hope someone more knowledgeable can provide an explanation.
