For the small projects we have worked on in the past, to ensure a minimum flow rate at the outlet of the boiler high-pressure (1000 m head) feed water pump, throttle orifices and shut-off valves were used in the branch pipes. Now there is a type of check valve that comes with a function for automatically controlling the minimum flow rate. Are such valves produced in China reliable? How is it working?

It is not recommended to use it; it’s better to opt for the most reliable option, namely one equipped with throttle orifice plates and shut-off valves.
Since the original poster himself said it’s a small project, with such a high head pressure, it’s better to use a traditional one. :D
Now, more people use minimum flow valves.
This valve works well; our pump in one of the units is equipped with this type of valve. Personally, I feel it performs better than orifice plates with valves, as it reduces the damage caused by low flow rates due to human factors.
The minimum return valve is quite useful; its structure is not complex. Products from some domestic manufacturers work well as well. I have used both domestic and imported ones
Is it a good idea to use this type of valve for a pump with a head of 1200m?
The reliability of this valve is acceptable; as long as there are no large foreign objects stuck in it, the sealing performance is also good
