I have a cantilever pump here, with a single flow channel in its volute. This pump has experienced multiple shaft breaks, and I believe the radial hydraulic forces acting on the impeller play a significant role in this issue. I would like to conduct calculations to investigate this matter; I hope everyone can advise me on how to carry out these calculations.
What is the outlet diameter? Generally, double volutes are used for outlets of 80 and above
What is the pump flow rate? What material is the shaft made of? What is the cantilever ratio? Power and speed? Axial diameter? There are various reasons for shaft breakage
