From the perspective of ensuring stable operation of the pump, it is certainly more reasonable to fix the pump completely to a base (in fact, this is the installation method used for most pumps). Placing the pump on a shock-absorbing platform is not common; this approach is only used when the pump needs to be moved frequently, such as on construction sites or in the field. Some small pumps even do not have any shock-absorbing devices – they are simply placed flat or fixed in a simple manner before being used.
