There is a liquid nitrogen pump in our factory. During a recent disassembly and inspection, it was found that the edge of the impeller was seriously corroded. Please see the picture for details. Teachers, what is the cause? Thanks
It doesn't necessarily look like corrosion from the film, it could be due to the original casting quality. It is recommended that the defective parts be polished and rounded for continued use. If it does not affect the use, wait until the next disassembly to check whether it is related to corrosion. The common corrosion parts of the impeller caused by cavitation are mostly on the surfaces on both sides of the wheel cover. You didn't show it, probably not. Looking at the processing marks on the blade flow channel, it may be the tire belt. It is recommended to read it for a while for reference.
Is it caused by backflow cavitation? The operating flow rate of the pump deviates from the design flow rate.
