Or does a liquid ring have a stronger ability to remove water vapor? If extraction is done using alcohols, is it better to use a dry pump for recovering solvents such as alcohol? Are there any other advantages?
Both water extraction and alcohol extraction can use liquid ring vacuum pumps; for alcohol extraction, alcohol is used as the cooling circulating medium. It depends on the level of vacuum you need to achieve in order to determine which vacuum pump to use; when a very high level of vacuum is required, different combinations of vacuum pumps may be necessary to reach that level.
