During recent maintenance of magnetic drive pumps, it was found that for some manufacturers, the external magnets of these pumps are single integrated magnets, while other manufacturers use multiple magnets assembled together. Do these two types of external magnets have any impact on the operational stability of the pump and the service life of the equipment?
All manufacturers use modular assemblies; there is no such thing as a complete unit. What is referred to as a complete unit actually involves low torque, and one piece is sufficient. Magnets are brittle and not suitable for being too large. The lifespan depends on factors such as the material of the magnet, temperature, the coefficients used when selecting the magnet, and accidental impacts; it has nothing to do with the quantity or size of these magnets!
