Circulating flushing circulates external sealing fluid through a pumping device (Figure 62). There are two points that need attention here. One is the "pumping device", which can be an external oil station and the sealing chamber to form a closed loop for circulation, or a pump can be installed in the sealing chamber, or the principle of thermosiphon can be used to circulate the fluid. Another point to note is "external sealing fluid". This flushing method is used on double-end or multi-end seals, but not on single-end seals. Circular flushing is also called "external circulation" by some.
Circular flushing is used for double-face or multi-face mechanical seals, and is used under working conditions that require lowering the temperature, diluting the leaking medium on the sealing face, or taking away contaminants. .
