Cut-off valves should be installed at the inlet and outlet of pumps, with gate valves being commonly used. The valve diameter is generally the same as the pipe diameter. 2. Exhaust and drain pipes equipped with valves should be installed on the pump body as well as on the inlet and outlet pipes of the pump. For pipes with a diameter of DN50 or larger, it is also possible to drill holes in the valve caps to install drain valves, with the waste fluids being directed to an appropriate drainage system. 3. The diameter of the inlet and outlet pipes of the pump should generally be one size larger or larger than that of the pump’s outlet. 4. A filter should be installed at the pump suction inlet. 5. A check valve should be installed at the pump outlet. 6. The pump outlet is equipped with at least a pressure gauge.
