According to the relevant announcements, the self-inspection and assessment report on environmental protection for the company’s project to increase annual production to 80,000 tons of 2,4-***chlorobenzene and 45,000 tons of sulfur black was reviewed and filed by the Guannan County Environmental Protection Bureau on September 30, 2016. The spray drying tower required for this project was completed in December 2016; however, the environmental protection facilities associated with it were put into operation at the end of March 2017 without undergoing acceptance procedures or passing inspections by environmental testing agencies. The Lianyungang Environmental Protection Bureau has imposed a fine of 800,000 yuan on the company, and an additional fine of 600,000 yuan on the person in charge of the project. Di Pu Technology stated that the company has paid the fines as required and promptly commissioned a qualified testing laboratory to conduct inspections; this has not had any significant impact on the company’s operations or financial situation. The company will strictly abide by relevant laws and regulations, earnestly fulfill its environmental protection responsibilities, and prevent similar incidents from occurring again.
