Which spherical tanks require on-site level gauges similar to those shown in the attached diagram

SH 3136-2003 – Safety Design Code for Spherical Storage Tanks of Liquefied Hydrocarbons, 5.3.1: Spherical tanks for liquefied hydrocarbons should be equipped with local level gauges as well as remote-level gauges. GB 12337-2014 – Steel Spherical Storage Tanks: Standard Interpretations and Calculation Examples. For tanks that are explosive or highly toxic, local level gauges and remote-level gauges should be installed to facilitate level monitoring
Found it online; it’s not visible from multiple sides. Gases definitely don’t require a level gauge, and such devices weren’t used either for liquid hydrocarbons in the early days. Do you have any pictures like this?
