It is the world's largest wound tube heat exchanger. Its function is to use the conversion purified gas, carbon dioxide product gas and tail gas cooling capacity to reduce the temperature of the conversion gas and reduce the operating consumption of the low-temperature methanol washing unit. On August 6, 2019, a very milestone day, the raw material gas cooler I of Ningxia Baofeng's 2.2 million tons annual methanol project successfully completed the overall hydraulic jacking and loading and left the factory.

The equipment is designed with a single-shell pass and three-tube pass structure. It uses the converted purified gas, carbon dioxide product gas and exhaust gas cooling to reduce the temperature of the converted gas. The heat exchange area is 18,600 square meters, which can effectively recover more cold energy and reduce the operating consumption of the low-temperature methanol washing unit. Compared with traditional fixed tube sheet heat exchangers, it has the advantages of high heat exchange efficiency and small floor space. Because the equipment is heavy and large, and is located within the frame of low-temperature methanol washing unit #1, it brings great difficulty to hoisting. Before the equipment enters the site, the technical department repeatedly studies and optimizes the hoisting plan and creates a three-dimensional hoisting simulation diagram on the computer for drills. ; The equipment installation personnel planned in advance, fully completed the basic re-test of the equipment on site, leveling the site, and preparation and inspection of the hoisting equipment. They eliminated unfavorable factors one by one, actively implemented countermeasures, and made full preparations for the one-time hoisting of the heat exchanger into place.
