On October 8, 2022, reporters learned from the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology that China’s first high-power, ultra-high-pressure fracturing pump test bench was recently built at Baoji Petroleum Machinery Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Baoji Petroleum Machinery). The newly built high-power ultra-high pressure fracturing pump test bench integrates testing and verification, data analysis, and performance evaluation, thus developing a set of fracturing pump testing and evaluation technologies with independent intellectual property rights, which provides strong support for improving the production efficiency and product performance of drilling pumps. It is reported that in June 2019, the construction project for a high-power ultra-high pressure fracturing pump testing platform passed the feasibility assessment by the Science and Technology Management Department of CNPC and was approved for implementation. The goal was to create a comprehensive testing platform for high-power ultra-high pressure fracturing pumps that would be leading in China and first-class internationally, as well as to develop a set of testing and performance evaluation methods for such pumps that rely on independent intellectual property rights. This project will promote research on new technologies and processes to improve the efficiency of shale gas development. All the research and construction tasks specified in the project plan have been completed, and the system is now ready for use. Since 2009, Baoji Petroleum Machinery has been developing fracturing pumps and five-cylinder pumps. Through 13 years of independent innovation, it has successively produced the QDP-2200 series of five-cylinder pumps featuring high power, large displacement, high pressure, and high efficiency – pumps suitable for use in high-pressure jet wells, large-displacement horizontal wells, deep/ultra-deep wells, offshore platforms, and other applications. In addition, it has developed 7 different series totaling 9 types of fracturing pumps, including the QPI-7000 series, designed for fracturing operations. These developments have changed the company’s previous situation in which its mud pumps were the only product line it offered, expanded its range of products, ensured reliability for long-term continuous operation in shale gas fracturing, broadened its market prospects, and improved its ability to meet supply demands.
