Recently, the distillation tower of Unit 1, the 1.5 million tons per year ethylene plant in Shandong Yulong Petrochemical’s Yulong Island integrated refining and chemical project (Phase 1), was successfully lifted into place, marking the beginning of the lifting operations for the large-scale equipment in this project. The distillation tower for the 1# 1.5 million tons/year ethylene plant, which was lifted this time, has a net weight of 780 tons and dimensions of Φ7600mm×66300mm. The lifting method involved using a 2000-ton crawler crane as the main crane and a 650-ton crawler crane as an auxiliary crane; together, these two cranes lifted the equipment horizontally, after which the main crane slowly raised it to a higher height while the auxiliary crane moved it forward steadily, thereby achieving the goals of safety, stability, orderliness, and efficiency.
