Everyone is welcome to join in the discussions on this forum. ------------------------------------------------------------------ In October 2017, the screw-type heterogenization compressor developed and produced by the Screw Machinery Division of Institute 711 was put into operation at Huizhou Yuxin Chemical Co., Ltd. This marked the successful application of such compressors in the new field of carbon tetrahydrogen heterogenization by Institute 711. Huizhou Yuxin Chemical Co., Ltd. owns the world’s first combined facility for methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) (80,000 t/a) and sec-butyl acetate (100,000 t/a). The screw compressor that was successfully tested this time is used in the 300,000-ton/year tetraolefin isomerization unit and belongs to the upstream section of this facility. To ensure that the screw-type heterogeneous compression unit system can control the exhaust temperature without the intrusion of external impurities, technicians conducted in-depth research on the process characteristics of the equipment and successfully developed a new compressor liquid injection process and sealing scheme. This enabled single-stage compression under high pressure ratio conditions, while simultaneously preventing any adverse effects of liquid injection on the process. In addition, the unit features high rotational speed, single-layer layout, small footprint, low civil engineering requirements, modular design, and easy installation and maintenance. It also does not require separate equipment, thus saving costs for the owner.
