The appraisal committee consists of 9 members including Academician Tan Tianwei of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Academician Deng Zixin of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Academician Zheng Yuguo of Zhejiang University of Technology, and Academician Yao Bin of Beijing Institute of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. They all agreed that the technology is highly innovative, has advanced indicators, and that the overall technology has reached the international leading level, and it is recommended to further expand the scale of production and application. The expert group of the Appraisal Committee listened to the project report of the unit that completed the results, reviewed the work report, technical report and other relevant materials, and conducted questions and discussions on the innovativeness, research level, economic and social benefits, application prospects and other aspects of the results. The appraisal committee believes that this achievement has broken through the technical problem of microbial green manufacturing of trans-aconitic acid, created a new production process for biological synthesis of trans-aconitic acid, and promoted the development of downstream application technologies such as trans-aconitate nematicidal biopesticides and trans-aconitate bio-based plasticizers, and has broad application prospects. Trans-aconitic acid is an unsaturated C6 tricarboxylic acid, which has good nematode control activity and application potential of bio-based platform compounds. However, traditional plant cultivation, extraction and chemical synthesis technical routes cannot be mass-produced on a large scale, severely limiting the development of downstream application technologies. This technological achievement achieved the green microbial manufacturing of trans-aconitic acid for the first time through a synthetic biology strategy. Using highly acid-resistant Aspergillus terreus as the chassis cell, and developing key technologies such as enabling technology platform, efficient cell factory, fermentation process demonstration, separation and purification process, a high-efficiency trans-aconitic acid cell factory was created. Relying on the ten-ton pilot fermentation platform of Shandong Lukang Pharmaceutical, the fermentation process amplification and engineering demonstration of trans-aconitic acid were completed, and the world's first microbial green manufacturing production demonstration line for trans-aconitic acid was established. This achievement solves the dilemma of raw material accessibility and further promotes the development of multi-scenario green applications of trans-aconitic acid. In response to the global problem of preventing and controlling root-knot nematodes in agriculture, a new nematicidal biopesticide of trans-aconitic acid was developed, and the registration of a new class of pesticides is currently being promoted. ; In response to the global industrial problem of millions of tons of petroleum-based phthalate plasticizers being difficult to replace due to health hazards, a new green and environmentally friendly trans-aconitate bio-based plasticizer was developed and used in the development of low-temperature-resistant neoprene and polyvinyl chloride composite materials. It has made important technological breakthroughs in the creation and application development of new bio-based chemicals. The results were jointly completed by the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Processes, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Shandong Energy Research Institute) and Shandong Lukang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.
