Dear experts, a manufacturer has installed an RTO unit outside its Class C factory building, with it located right next to the building. This factory is used for processing plastic products. Building codes specify requirements regarding the distance that must be maintained between Class A and B factories and open-flame equipment; I would like to know whether there are any such requirements in the building codes concerning the fire separation distance between Class C factories and open-flame equipment
Reference 1: Article 4.2.9 and Table 4.2.9 of the \"Fire Protection Standards for Engineering Design of Fine Chemical Enterprises\" GB 51283-2020, along with Note 2: Class C factories should be located 20 meters away from open flames; the fire protection distance between a Class C factory and a source of sparks can be set at 50% of the distance required from such open flames, meaning that the fire protection distance between a Class C factory and a spark-producing source is 10 meters. Reference 2: \"Code for Fire Protection Design of Petrochemical Enterprises\" GB 50160-2008 (2018 edition), Article 4.2.12, Table 4.2.12 and Note 4: The fire protection distance between Class C installations (units) and open-flame areas is 20 m; this distance can be reduced by 50% in the case of areas where sparks may be generated. That is, the fire protection distance between Class C installations (units) and scattered ignition sources is also 10 m. The building codes specify clear requirements for categories A and B, but there are no clear specifications for category C. For reference only.
