This device not only has the usual function of LNG gasification but also enables the extraction of cold energy, allowing for direct utilization of LNG’s cold energy – a first in China’s LNG receiving stations. It features entirely independent intellectual property rights. Filled a gap in the domestic industry ; It marks a major breakthrough in the application of technological innovation by Yantai Longkou Liquefied Gas Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Sinopec Natural Gas, in LNG projects. The new gasifier employs a single-working-fluid Rankine cycle process to generate electricity from the cold energy in the cryogenic section. During the construction process, the Longkou LNG project team was responsible for initiating the project and conducting market research. It actively promoted the research and development as well as the application of new LNG vaporization process systems and their key equipment. By working together with design firms and various domestic manufacturers, it focused on overcoming technical challenges and developing these key components, ensuring that the new LNG vaporization systems had strong processing capabilities, high operational flexibility, adaptable process operations, and ease of cold energy extraction. After three years of effort, a complete set of new LNG vaporization equipment with fully independent intellectual property rights was successfully developed, filling a gap in China’s industry. Compared with the vaporizers commonly used in conventional LNG receiving stations, it offers advantages such as a higher degree of marketization in procurement, higher heat exchange efficiency, and easier access to cold energy, serving as a model for the industry. Once put into formal use, it enables direct utilization of LNG cooling energy, thereby significantly improving operational efficiency.
