On December 12, the Huajin AAME Fine Chemicals and Raw Materials Project successfully completed the lifting operation of an emergency cooling tower weighing approximately 1,300 tons for the ethylene plant. On December 25, two large-scale units of the 1.65 million tons per year ethylene plant in the Huajin AAME fine chemicals and raw materials project – the propylene distillation tower and the ethylene distillation tower – were successfully lifted on the same day. Among them, the propylene distillation tower is the largest unit equipment in the ethylene plant and the second heaviest among all the equipment, weighing over 2,100 tons; the ethylene distillation tower itself weighs nearly 1,000 tons. After the two units were transported to their designated locations on site recently, the company immediately began work on equipping them with the necessary components. After more than 20 days of round-the-clock effort, the installation of the required components such as platform ladders, external insulation, and pipelines connected to the towers was completed efficiently, enabling the units to be lifted into place. After the completion of the “clothing and covering” process, the propylene distillation tower weighed nearly 2,900 tons. The company used the largest gantry crane in China, with a capacity of 5,000 tons, as the main lifting device, supplemented by a 2,000-ton crawler crane to assist with the lifting process ; The ethylene distillation tower weighs nearly 1,400 tons; a 4,000-ton class crawler crane is used as the main lifting device, with the assistance of a 1,000-ton class crawler crane. After nearly 4 hours of testing the lifting process, lifting the equipment, carrying out the actual lifting, and making adjustments, the two towers were successfully installed in place and the lights on them were turned on; significant progress was made in this large-scale lifting operation.
