On January 18, the renovation project for Phase 2 of Yongrong Technology’s CPL was completed, marking the full completion of the capacity expansion and renovation project for CPL (in the chemical sector). This marked the transition from the construction phase to the production preparation phase. More than 80 people attended the handover ceremony, including Qu Yaping, General Manager of Yongrong Technology; Liu Qimin, Executive Vice President; Wu Wangcheng, Vice President of Production; representatives from relevant functional departments and production units; as well as representatives from Jinjiang Inspection and Safety Company and the supervision unit. Since the construction of the CPL Phase II expansion project began in March 2024, Yongrong Technology has coordinated the efforts of relevant departments within the company to provide focused support throughout the entire process. By identifying key stages, refining work procedures, and resolving specific issues, the company has made steady progress in implementing the CPL Phase II expansion project, ensuring that it is completed on schedule. The renovation projects for the caprolactam unit and the ammonia oximation unit in Yongrong Technology’s CPL Phase II were put into operation on November 30, 2024. Once the expansion and renovation project (chemical sector) for CPL Phase II is fully completed, the company’s caprolactam production capacity will increase to 650,000 tons per year. This will enable it to better meet market demands, reduce production costs, enhance its capabilities in research and development as well as market expansion, thereby improving the company’s overall competitiveness. Next, Yongrong Technology will advance the commissioning of the expansion facilities for Phase 2 of the CPL project in a scientific and efficient manner, striving to achieve a strong start in the first quarter. The total investment for Yongrong Technology’s CPL Phase II project is 8 billion yuan, with the overall investment for the entire project amounting to 15 billion yuan. It was constructed with funding provided by Yongrong Group, one of China’s top 500 companies, as well as large state-owned enterprises at the provincial and municipal levels such as Fujian Investment and Development Group and Putian State Investment Group. The design work was carried out by various design firms including China Tianchen, China Aerospace Changzheng, PowerChina Jiangxi Institute, Liming Engineering Design Institute, and Sinopec Nanhua Institute. Dozens of construction companies participated in its building, including China Chemical Third Construction Company, Fourth Construction Company, Sixth Construction Company, Sixteenth Construction Company, Jiangsu Yuanyou, Sichuan Electric Power Construction Company, Longan, Zhejiang An, Shenzhen Haitian, and Hunan Xjin Cheng. The project utilizes industry-leading fourth-generation hydration and ammonoximation technologies, as well as a world-class digital intelligent safety and production control system to enable real-time visualization and digital intelligence-based management, thereby ensuring the production of high-quality caprolactam through advanced technology and equipment. The main production units of the second phase of Fujian Yongrong Technology’s caprolactam project include two sets of 200,000 tons/year olefin-based **units and two sets of 200,000 tons/year caprolactam units. The supporting production facilities include one set of coal-to-hydrogen plant with a capacity of 40,000 m3/h and a coal-to-ammonia complex with an annual capacity of 300,000 tons, two sets of hydrogen peroxide plants (35%) with an annual capacity of 200,000 tons each, and one sulfuric acid plant with an annual capacity of 500,000 tons. Among them, hydrogen production and ammonia synthesis employ space furnace gasification. Yongrong Technology’s caprolactam project is located in the Shimen’ao Industrial Park, Dongzhuang Town, Xiuyu District, Putian City, Fujian Province. With a total investment of 15 billion yuan, the project is divided into two phases; the first phase, which involves a production capacity of 200,000 tons per year of caprolactam, has already been completed and put into operation. The total investment for Yongrong Technology’s CPL Phase II project is 8 billion yuan, of which nearly 2 billion yuan is allocated to the hydrogen production and ammonia synthesis facilities. These facilities represent the largest investment and longest construction period among the production units in this phase II project. They utilize the HT-L pressurized coal gasification technology developed independently by China’s Changzheng Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd., and boast advantages such as being environmentally friendly and economically reliable. Once completed, these facilities will be able to produce 640 million standard cubic meters of hydrogen per year.
