On May 29th, in the cracking furnace area of the ethylene plant at Fushun Petrochemical Olefins Plant, another key construction milestone was successfully achieved as part of the project to remove bottlenecks and improve energy efficiency in this 800,000-ton-per-year ethylene production facility: the framework of the new No. 9 cracking furnace’s front pipe gallery, which is 15 meters long, 6 meters wide, and weighs 75 tons, was precisely lifted to its intended height of 30.4 meters with the help of large lifting equipment, and was seamlessly connected to the existing pipe gallery framework. The new ethylene cracking furnace project is one of the key components of the project aimed at removing bottlenecks and improving energy efficiency in the 800,000-ton/year ethylene plant. Unlike conventional projects, the new ethylene cracker project adopts a brick-by-brick construction approach. The ethylene cracking furnace will be constructed and assembled at the prefabrication site, and once fully built, it will be moved to the production area to be seamlessly integrated with the existing equipment. This model of production while construction avoids the downtime losses that traditional renovation projects can cause to existing installations, enabling rapid construction and meeting safety and environmental standards without affecting normal production or the energy and material consumption of the cracking furnace. It also facilitates safety and quality control during the construction process, further enhancing the depth of project process management.
The steel structural materials for this pipe rack framework arrived at the ethylene plant site on May 7, and the ground assembly of the steel structural framework was completed on the 25th. To efficiently complete the lifting tasks and ensure construction quality and safety, the factory adopts refined management practices, plans meticulously, and conducts thorough discussions in advance on the key challenges involved in the construction. In the face of the challenges related to working at great heights, handling large objects, and achieving precise alignment, we conducted a thorough analysis of the difficulties involved in lifting operations, carefully checked the operational conditions and safety measures, and provided detailed safety and technical instructions to all management and construction personnel. To ensure absolute safety, the ethylene unit in the ethylene combined workshop organized a \"Joint Monitoring Task Force,\" conducted tabletop simulations to thoroughly identify potential risks, and strictly enforced all safety procedures.
