Leveraging Saiding Company’s fixed-bed and biomass gasification technologies, Zhejiang Anji Shixian’s 80,000 tons per year green methanol project was put into operation

On August 15, 2025, Zhejiang Huanke Environmental Certification Center Co., Ltd. organized a technical review meeting for the \"Environmental Impact Assessment Report for the Project of Producing High-End New Materials through the Green Co-production of Recycled Resources by Zhejiang Shixian New Materials Co., Ltd. (Phase I)\\" in Anji County. Attendees included representatives from the Huzhou Ecology and Environment Bureau, the Anji Branch of the Huzhou Ecology and Environment Bureau, the Lingang Chemical Industrial Park Management Committee, the Meixi Town People’s Government, the construction unit, the environmental impact assessment agency, the design agency, as well as 4 invited experts. Before the meeting, the participating representatives and experts visited the project site. During the meeting, the experts and representatives from various agencies listened to presentations by the project owner and the environmental assessment agency regarding the general details of the project and its environmental impact assessment. They carefully examined the environmental assessment documents and held thorough discussions; they found that the content of the environmental impact report was fairly comprehensive, that the key points and criteria for evaluation were appropriate, that the project analysis accurately reflected the pollution characteristics of this industry, and that the pollution prevention measures proposed in the report were feasible. The overall conclusions of the evaluation were credible, and the report could be submitted after further revisions. The successful completion of the environmental impact assessment for this project represents an important milestone, signaling that the company has taken solid steps on the path toward green and sustainable development. It also lays a solid foundation for the smooth construction and operation of subsequent projects. The project was developed through a partnership between Zhejiang Huanke Environmental Certification Center Co., Ltd. and China Chemical Saiding Ningbo Engineering Co., Ltd., using the EPC turnkey project model; the contract was officially signed in November 2023. The Zhejiang Shixian Green Methanol Project: SDN Ningbo Company is responsible for the EPC general contracting work. This 80,000-ton/year green methanol project utilizes SDN Company’s fixed-bed and biomass gasification technologies. It uses biomass, as well as recycled materials obtained from the pretreatment of urban waste or industrial waste, as raw materials. The goal is to create a comprehensive industrial chain that transforms biomass/solid waste into syngas, which in turn can be used to produce green energy sources and high-performance new materials, thereby establishing an industrial model characterized by negative carbon emissions, low energy consumption, high productivity, and high value. Centered on a 380,000-ton/year regeneration slag gasification unit, this project produces 80,000 tons/year of alcohol-based fuels, 100,000 tons/year of electrolyte solvents, 10,000 tons/year of phthalamic acid, and 3,600 tons/year of polyimide monomers, thereby establishing a complete circular economy industry chain. On June 12, 2025, Chen Gaoshi, General Manager of Zhejiang Shixian New Materials Co., Ltd., led a team of company executives, together with officials from strategic partners such as Bai Wenfeng from the Investment and Construction Department of Wuxi Taihu New City Group, Wu Ke, Director of the Investment Department of Xinshang Investment Co., Ltd., Yu Kai, Deputy General Manager of Wuxi Energy Group, and Zhu Yuan, Head of the Strategic Investment Department, to conduct an inspection tour in Yixing City, Jiangsu Province. At the symposium, the two sides first had in-depth discussions on the raw material supply for the \"High-End New Materials Project Based on the Green Co-production of Recycled Resources\". This project has specific requirements regarding raw materials, and Yixing boasts significant advantages in terms of resources. Taking bamboo forests as an example, Yixing has approximately 210,000 mu of bamboo forests, with an annual output of 180,000 tons of raw bamboo. Although this is only one-fourth of the amount produced in Anji County, the resource reserves there are still considerable. In terms of straw resources, Yixing City has an annual production volume of up to 250,000 tons. To date, 37,000 tons have been processed, and 14 straw collection points have been established, creating a fairly comprehensive collection system that ensures a stable supply of straw.
