It was learned on September 25 that Zhejiang CaiBao New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. plans to invest a total of 1.08 billion yuan in building a new facility capable of producing 30,000 tons per year of environmentally friendly special coatings for ships, as well as 50,000 tons per year of special resins. The facility will be constructed in the Ma’an area of Keqiao Economic Development Zone in Shaoxing City. The project will be carried out in two phases: Phase 1 requires an investment of 320 million yuan, while Phase 2 will be launched at an appropriate time depending on the progress of Phase 1. The planned start date for Phase 1 is January 2026, with the planned completion date set for December 2026. According to Tianyancha, Zhejiang Caibao New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. was registered on May 30, 2025, with a registered capital of 10 million RMB; its legal representative is Zhao Shifang. The sole shareholder is Gaike (Zhejiang) Biotechnology Co., Ltd. The business scope includes research and development of new material technologies ； Paint sales ； Synthetic materials sales ； Sales of engineering plastics and synthetic resins ； Wholesale of hardware products. Public information shows that Gaike (Zhejiang) Biotechnology Co., Ltd. was established in 2019. It is a high-tech enterprise dedicated to the research, development, and industrialization of ultra-smooth anti-adhesion coating materials. Its products include silicone anti-fouling topcoats, self-polishing anti-fouling coatings, aliphatic polyurethane topcoats, epoxy primers, and silicone bonding coatings. The company’s core products include a new generation of anti-fouling coatings for ships, which offer advantages such as reduced drag and increased speed, energy savings and carbon reduction, as well as long-lasting anti-fouling effects. These coatings can increase a ship’s speed by more than 5% and reduce fuel consumption by over 20%. This technology is widely applied in various fields such as ships, offshore wind power, marine aquaculture, offshore platforms, electrical equipment, and optical instruments. The total land area for the first phase of this project is approximately 31 mu, and it will include Class A production workshops, coating production workshops, Class A warehouses, **standard laboratories, testing rooms, and auxiliary facilities ； Five new automated production lines for special coatings and seven automated production lines for special resins will be established, enabling an annual production capacity of 30,000 tons of environmentally friendly special coatings for ships and 50,000 tons of special resins. Priority will be given to building a production line capable of manufacturing 2,000 tons per year of special anti-fouling coatings for marine vessels, thereby securing the first classification society certification for silicone-based, environmentally friendly anti-fouling coatings for ships issued by a Chinese company ； Establish an international R&D center for silicon materials. It is reported that the technology behind this project was inspired by the surface structures of pitcher plants and earthworms, leading to the development of a new generation of ultra-smooth anti-adhesion coating materials. These materials offer advantages such as reduced drag, increased speed, energy savings, resistance to attachment by marine organisms, as well as being environmentally friendly and non-toxic; they can thus solve the problem of marine organism attachment. Currently, these products have been applied in ocean-going ships, commercial vessels, and military applications, demonstrating excellent performance. Upon completion and full operation of the project, it is expected to generate annual sales of 1 billion yuan and annual tax revenues of 15 million yuan, with the potential to achieve import substitution in multiple sectors.
