On the morning of November 17, the RTO project for treating emissions from low-temperature methanol washing at Datang Fuxin Coal-to-Natural Gas Company officially commenced construction. This project is a key measure taken by Fuxin Company to thoroughly implement the concept of green and low-carbon development and to earnestly fulfill its responsibilities in environmental protection. As a core technology in the field of industrial waste gas treatment, RTO (Regenerative Thermal Oxidation) works by utilizing high-temperature thermal oxidation to effectively break down volatile organic compounds (VOCs), converting them into carbon dioxide and water, thereby achieving high-standard purification of waste gases. The flue gas from the low-temperature methanol washing process in coal-to-natural gas production is characterized by large volume and complex composition. The regenerative oxidation combustion technology is used for its treatment, and a waste heat boiler is employed to generate steam as a by-product; this approach not only addresses the issue of environmental protection related to these exhaust gases but also enables the recovery and reuse of energy. To ensure the smooth progress of the project, the construction unit in charge has developed a special plan tailored to the challenges of winter construction. By focusing on the control objectives of \"no excesses in any aspect and three zeros,\" it plans the project milestones in a scientific manner to guarantee safe, high-quality, and efficient progress of the work. The implementation of the RTO project is of great significance for improving the regional environmental quality, safeguarding the health of local residents, enhancing enterprises’ pollution control capabilities, and achieving low-carbon and green development. China Datang Fuxin Coal-to-Natural Gas Project is the third large-scale coal-to-natural gas demonstration project approved by the **National Development and Reform Commission, and it is also the only coal-to-natural gas project in the Northeast region. The first phase of the project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation by the end of 2026; it will be able to process 7.5 million tons of low-grade coal per year, generating 1.33 billion cubic meters of natural gas. The natural gas produced will be supplied to the five cities of Shenyang, Fuxin, Tieling, Fushun, and Benxi through its own long-distance pipelines, providing a stable and reliable source of clean energy for a population of 15.96 million people. Once connected to the national gas network, it will further help ensure a steady supply of natural gas to key regions such as North China. Once the first phase of the project is fully operational, it is expected to create more than 2,000 direct jobs, with an annual output value exceeding 4 billion yuan. By upgrading and demonstrating the new model of integrated development of \"coal chemical industry + new energy,\" the annual output value of this project is expected to exceed 6 billion yuan. It will serve as a reliable driving force for the comprehensive revitalization of Liaoning and the transformation and upgrading of Fuxin, thereby contributing positively to the local economic and social development.
