On December 16 local time, the excavation work to remove the foundations of the original 9 boilers for the Algerie Arzew gas boiler project carried out by the international branch was successfully completed. As a crucial preliminary step in the project construction, this demolition work covered the two main areas of GL1Z (LNG) and GL2Z (LPG), removing obstacles to subsequent infrastructure construction and equipment installation tasks, and marking the project’s entry into a new phase. This task was initiated on October 27 and was completed efficiently within nearly 50 days, with a total volume of earthwork removed amounting to 5,581.7 cubic meters, of which about 2,100 cubic meters was crushed concrete. This paved the way for subsequent foundation construction and equipment installation work. Faced with practical challenges such as the high strength of the concrete in the original boiler foundation, the difficulty of demolition, and limited working space, the project team, as the general contractor for the project, took proactive action by forming a professional technical team to lead the efforts to overcome these difficulties. Through multiple thematic meetings and discussions, the demolition plan and measures for protecting surrounding facilities were continuously optimized, providing solid technical support for the construction work.
