On December 31, 2025, the wastewater treatment project for an annual production capacity of 1.5 million tons of ethylene and related downstream processed products at Fujian Sino-Saudi Petrochemical, which was constructed by Sinopec Nanjing Engineering Installation Branch, was successfully completed, marking the full transition of the project from the construction phase to the production preparation phase. This is the largest wastewater treatment facility of its kind for integrated refining and chemical processing in China; once completed, it will play a vital role in ensuring the green, low-carbon, and sustainable development of Fujian Sino-Saudi Petrochemical. As a key public infrastructure facility for this plant, it includes three main systems for treating wastewater with high salt content, low salt content, and general wastewater, along with supporting facilities such as substation buildings, cabinet rooms, and utility tunnels. Since work began in April 2024, facing the challenges of a tight schedule and a large volume of work, the project team has adhered to scientific management practices, detailed the objectives for various stages and assigned responsibilities clearly, and established an efficient coordination mechanism. To address challenges such as interdisciplinary collaboration and incomplete equipment delivery, special task teams were established to implement daily scheduling and weekly reviews, ensuring that the project progresses according to the planned milestones.
