First public announcement on the environmental impact assessment for the Huichang Yonghe methane chloride-based tetrachloroethylene co-production upgrade project: On June 8, the first public announcement regarding the environmental impact assessment of Yonghe Technology’s Huichang methane chloride-based tetrachloroethylene co-production upgrade project was made. Project overview: Project name: Yonghe Technology’s Huichang Methane Chlorides and Tetrachloroethylene Co-Production Upgrade Project ; Construction unit: Huichang Yonghe Technology Development Co., Ltd ; Construction location: Fluorine salt chemical industry base, Yunmenling Town, Huichang County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province ; Project nature: Technical renovation ; Project investment: Total investment of 8.126 million yuan ; Construction contents: This technical renovation does not involve the construction of any new buildings. Instead, it aims to update and improve the existing hydrochlorination and tetrachloroethylene processing units, as well as the incineration system within the company’s facilities, while also upgrading their supporting infrastructure. 1. In terms of environmental protection and safety: A wastewater evaporation unit, a secondary off-gas absorption tower for hydrochloric acid storage tanks, a chlorine absorption system for the liquid chlorine storage area, and an off-gas absorption system for the intermediate tank farm will be installed. Additionally, the incineration system will be optimized and upgraded ; 2. Phasing out the hexachloroethane by-product and its production process; the existing annual production capacity of 1,600 tons will be incinerated in the incineration system. After the project is completed and put into operation, the production capacity of the main products remains unchanged, resulting in an annual production capacity of 57,499.2 tons of dichloromethane, 53,058 tons of trichloromethane, and 15,000 tons of tetrachloroethylene.
