On March 9, the Yichang Ecology and Environment Bureau issued the first public notice regarding the environmental impact assessment for the industrialization project of Hubei Sanning Chemical Co., Ltd., which aims to produce 20,000 tons per year of fourth-generation refrigerants. The details of the project are as follows: Image. Project name: Industrialization project for producing 20,000 tons per year of fourth-generation refrigerants； Construction unit: Hubei Sanning Chemical Co., Ltd ； Construction type: New construction ； Construction location: Yaojiagang Chemical Industrial Park, Zhijiang, Yichang City, Hubei Province ； Construction contents: Construction of a new 20,000-ton/year HFO-1234yf production facility, a 100,000-ton/year methyl chloride production facility, and related supporting utilities. Regarding Hubei Sanning Chemical Co., Ltd.: The predecessor of Hubei Sanning Chemical Co., Ltd. was the Zhijiang County Fertilizer Factory, which was established in 1969. In 1993, as a pilot project, it was restructured into a state-controlled joint-stock company. In 2001, through the \"two replacements\" reform, the enterprises were privatized. In 2007, a joint venture was established with Jincheng Coal Industry Group, a large state-owned enterprise in Shanxi (now Jineng Holding Equipment Manufacturing Group), resulting in a mixed-ownership enterprise. Regarding HFO-1234yf: HFO-1234yf (chemical name: 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene) is a new type of environmentally friendly refrigerant that belongs to the family of hydrofluoroolefins (HFO). Its global warming potential (GWP) is only 4, its ozone depletion potential (ODP) is zero, and its atmospheric lifetime is about 10–12 days, which is much shorter than that of the traditional refrigerant R134a. The boiling point is -28.3°C and the critical temperature is 95°C; its physical and chemical properties are similar to those of R134a, allowing it to be used directly in existing car air conditioning systems without major modifications. As an environmentally friendly alternative to R134a, it is widely used in automotive air conditioning systems around the world. Especially in regions with strict environmental regulations such as Europe, the United States, and Japan, it has become the mainstream refrigerant. Other fields: Gradually expanding into areas such as commercial refrigeration, household air conditioning, refrigerator cooling, heat transfer media, and blowing agents.
