On April 23, the Weihai Ecological Environment Bureau issued an announcement regarding its decision to approve the environmental impact assessment document for the expansion project of high-end fluorine-based fine chemicals at Weihai Xinyuan New Materials Co., Ltd. The details of the project are as follows: Project name: Expansion project of high-end fluorine-based fine chemicals; Construction unit: Weihai Xinyuan New Materials Co., Ltd ; Construction location: Within the existing factory premises of Weihai Xinyuan New Materials Co., Ltd., in Wendeng Chemical Industry Park, Weihai City, Shandong Province ; Project nature: Expansion ; Investment amount: 400 million yuan ; Construction contents: The proposed project will utilize 5 existing workshops, construct 1 new workshop, as well as a circulating cooling water and refrigeration system. In the newly built Workshop No. 1, facilities for producing hexafluoropropylene, trifluoropropylmethyldichlorosilane (TFPMCS), and the hydrolysate of TFPMCS will be established. The original workshop was equipped with facilities for producing trifluorochloroethane, tetrachloropropane, D3F, raw rubber, trifluoroethylamine, and trifluoroethanol. A new trifluoroethylamine filling production line has been added to the filling facility, along with 5 additional storage tanks. The project is planned to be constructed in three phases, with environmental protection measures such as waste gas treatment systems and noise control devices being installed as part of it; wastewater treatment and solid waste disposal facilities will make use of those already existing. Upon completion of the project, it will be capable of producing 7650 tons per year of trifluorochloroethane (R133a), 360 tons per year of trifluoroethylamine (TFEA), 3000 tons per year of trifluoroethanol (TFE), 10000 tons per year of tetrachloropropane (TCP), 4000 tons per year of trifluoropropene (TFP), 2150 tons per year of trifluoropropylmethyl dichlorosilane (TFPMCS), 1620 tons per year of the hydrolyzed product of TFPMCS, 500 tons per year of difluoropropylmethyl trisiloxane (D3F), and 500 tons per year of raw rubber (also known as fluorosilicone rubber).
