On May 6, the Dongtai Qi Xin new polyphenylene sulfide production project with an annual capacity of 160,000 tons, and the McReynolds high-end polyurethane material production project with an annual capacity of 50,000 tons, were signed for establishment in the Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone. The Dongtai Qixin project, which is being established this time, covers an area of 150 mu and will be built in two phases. The first phase requires an investment of 1.6 billion yuan, and once the entire project is completed, it will have the capacity to produce 160,000 tons of polyphenylene sulfide materials per year. The McLean project, invested in and constructed by Nantong Bayer Medical Technology Materials Co., Ltd., focuses on the production of water-based polyurethane coatings. It offers advantages such as low VOC emissions, safety, flame retardancy, and environmental friendliness, making it an ideal upgraded alternative to traditional solvent-based polyurethanes. The total investment in this project is 200 million yuan, and upon completion it will be able to produce 50,000 tons of high-end polyurethane materials per year.
