In 2026, the 25th National \"Safety Production Month\" will see everyone emphasizing safety and being capable of handling emergencies, as well as efforts to identify and address potential risks and hazards. On June 6th, the construction site of the vinyl acetate unit in the 15 million tons per year coal conversion demonstration project carried out by China National Chemical Fourth Construction Company’s Western Branch reached another key milestone. The first piece of equipment to be fully installed there – the light fraction distillation tower – was successfully lifted into place, achieving the ideal operating condition of \"tower erected and lights on.\" This marks an acceleration in the installation of the plant’s equipment, as well as a new breakthrough in the modular lifting of large-scale equipment. It is reported that the light-component distillation tower to be lifted this time has a total height of 29.9 meters, and its weight reaches 19 tons after modular assembly; it is one of the core distillation equipment in the vinyl acetate production facility. To ensure safe and precise lifting that achieves the desired result in one go, the project team carefully planned the construction scheme and optimized the lifting process. A single-crane lifting method was employed, using a 200-ton truck crane as the main crane with an 80-ton truck crane to assist in guiding the load. Strict control was applied throughout the process, including technical briefings prior to lifting, equipment inspection, and verification of operating conditions. Close attention was paid to the stress on the lifting points, the posture of the tower, and the accuracy of positioning, thereby ensuring safe, efficient, and precise lifting.
