On the morning of June 21, the production facility of Hefei Xianwei Semiconductor Materials Co., Ltd. located in Xinzhai was officially put into operation. This also marks that the integrated circuit community in Hefei Xinzhan High-Tech Zone is growing at a rapid pace. It is worth noting that some of the electronic specialty gases produced by this company can fill the gaps in the domestic market. Hefei Xianwei Semiconductor Materials Co., Ltd. is headquartered in the Xinzhai High-Tech Zone of Hefei, with its production facility in Xinzhai located at the northwest corner of Zhucheng West Road and Tongbao Road. The company is a professional service provider specializing in gas research, production, storage, and transportation. Its main products include high-purity specialty electronic gases, high-purity electronic gas mixtures, ultra-pure gases, and industrial gases. It covers the entire production process, from synthesis, adsorption, distillation, and purification to packaging. The company also has two other production bases in Feidong, Hefei, and Yeji, Lu’an. “The products are widely used in industries such as integrated circuits, LCD panels, LEDs, optical fiber communications, solar energy, and automobiles. ”Electronic specialty gases are the ‘lifeblood’ of the semiconductor industry; their stable supply is directly related to the continuity of chip production and the quality rate of products. In recent years, with the strong support of relevant policies, high-tech industries in the field of electronic semiconductors such as integrated circuits, display panels, LEDs, and photovoltaics have developed at a rapid pace, which in turn has driven a continuous increase in the demand for specialty gases used in the electronics industry. The newly launched production facility is focused on the large-scale production of high-purity electronic specialty gases. Once operational, it will enable timely service and rapid response to local customers such as those in the chip bonding industry, further improving the integrated circuit industry ecosystem in this area and enhancing the gas supply capabilities for integrated circuit companies in the region. In the second half of the year, more product categories may be applied for; the new High-Tech Zone plans to add 20 types of electronic specialty gases, and some precursors related to these electronic specialty gases will also be invested in. Public information shows that the project investment amounts to 502,059,000 yuan; it involves the construction of production workshops, analysis workshops, a comprehensive building, warehouses, as well as supporting pollution control facilities. Once operational, the facility will be able to produce 300 tons per year of purified silicon tetrachloride (4N), 200 tons per year of boron trichloride (5N), 200 tons per year of dichlorosilane (4N), 500 tons per year of nitrogen trifluoride (5N), 300 tons per year of nitrogen (6N), 300 tons per year of chlorine (6N), 10 tons per year of chlorine (6N), 100 tons per year of carbon dioxide (5N), 200 tons per year of oxygen (6N), 20 tons per year of hydrogen (6N), 2.214 tons per year of a mixture of phosphine and hydrogen (equivalent to 2,650 bottles per year), 6.3 tons per year of a mixture of diborane and hydrogen (equivalent to 3,000 bottles per year), 6.09 tons per year of a mixture of fluorine and nitrogen (equivalent to 1,000 bottles per year), and 123.98 tons per year of excimer laser gas (equivalent to 28,000 bottles per year). The facility will also be capable of packaging 10,000 tons per year of carbon dioxide, 3,000 tons per year of liquid nitrogen/nitrogen, 3,000 tons per year of liquid chlorine/argon, 50 tons per year of liquid helium/helium. It can also produce a mixture of fluorine and nitrogen in quantities of 900 bottles per year, as well as 350 bottles per year of a mixture of phosphine and hydrogen. Additionally, it has the capacity to process 20,000 ultra-clean gas cylinders per year.
