I’m facing a new issue: with the orifice plate differential pressure flow transmitter, the 20mA signal sent to the DCS via the AI interface doesn’t show the full scale value. What’s going on?
Just give 20 mA and see what the DCS displays
I used a signal generator to supply 20mA; the DC scale ranges from 0 to 8000. When 20mA is applied, the reading shows 5000, which is strange. I suspect that the configuration might be doing some special processing in this case
You can try it this way: enter 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20 milliamps respectively to see if they match the theoretical values
Are you saying it’s linear? It is linear. If the DCS range is 0-5000, then [4, 8, 12, 16, 20] all work fine. I also know that setting the DCS to a range of 5000 will solve the problem. But I don’t understand why, when the range is 0-8000, it doesn’t reach the full scale
I’m not sure about that. You can give it a try to see if it shows five thousand when the amount exceeds that figure
Is the range set for the DCS program 0-8000?
Is the upper limit set at 8000? Also, the signal attenuation needs to be taken into consideration; please give your expert advice
:The signal that your transmitter sends to the DCS is a differential pressure signal; the DCS applies square root processing as well as temperature and pressure compensation, so it isn’t at full scale. Does that make sense?
