There is an old-fashioned sulfuric acid production line, and for the dry absorption system, the acid concentration has always been measured manually, which is time-consuming and labor-intensive. Due to the need for job restructuring, we are considering acquiring a portable acid concentration tester. Do any of you have any better suggestions? ! We can talk about it from various aspects such as cost-performance, thank you! !
It’s better to be able to automate things; improving efficiency is also a good thing
Online analyzers are not expensive either; they enable continuous transmission of data to the control room, which is convenient, and the data remains relatively stable with little drift.
Could you specify some models, prices, etc.? Due to funding constraints, higher authorities are not considering online analyzers for the time being. Thank you all! !
There are several existing methods for measuring concentration: 1. Online specific gravity measurement, in which the measuring element is a glass ball connected to a rope, with one end of the rope attached to a detector. As the liquid concentration changes, its density changes as well, which in turn affects the buoyant force; this change in buoyant force results in a corresponding change in the tension on the rope, and it is based on this principle that the measurement is carried out. The advantages are its low price – around 10,000, and it can be obtained for less than 20,000 – as well as its high precision, which allows for accuracy to three decimal places. The disadvantages are that the liquid level must remain stable, and installation is rather complicated; corrosion caused by acid mist also needs to be taken into full consideration. 2. The principle of conductivity measurement is quite commonly used; the price is around tens of thousands of yuan, and the measurement terminals are usually coated with fluororesin. The advantage is its simple installation, while the disadvantage is that the measurement curve is segmented and not continuous; moreover, for sulfuric acid, there is a range of concentrations for which no curve exists, making it impossible to conduct measurements. 3. Optical measurement method: This type of instrument has only one drawback, which is its high cost – around 300,000. It has no other shortcomings; its accuracy is excellent, its installation is straightforward, replacing the bulb is not expensive, and its service life is very long.
Ultrasonic measurement method. It can meet your need to go there; around 100,000
According to the manufacturer, portable acid concentration meters are primarily designed for measuring 99% acid, and they provide fairly accurate results.
