The new **chemicals catalog has been available for some time now. The last entry is numbered 2828, which refers to synthetic resins, paints, auxiliary materials, coatings, and other products that contain flammable solvents and have a closed-cup flash point of ≤60°C. Note 3 under this entry states that for entry 2828, liquids with a flash point higher than 35°C but not exceeding 60°C can be considered non-flammable liquids if they yield a negative result in the continuous combustion test; such liquids do not need to be managed as flammable liquids. What I would like to ask is, what does it mean to get a negative result in the continuous combustion test? What exactly is the definition given by this sentence that determines something not to be classified as a **chemical**?
It means that it should not continue to burn during the flammability test. . .
For the continued flammability test, can that instrument be purchased by the company itself for testing, or does it need to be tested by a qualified institution?
