I found in the building codes the requirements specified in 4.2.7 and 4.2.8 regarding transfer hoses: the hose must be 20 meters away from the storage tank, 14 meters away from buildings, and 8 meters away from the pump room. If those regulations are followed, there is basically no space in the factory where such a platform can be installed. Can it be placed under the utility tunnel, or occupy part of the road space? The requirements for loading and unloading stations in stone regulations are even more stringent, and basically no consideration is given to them. 1. I’m really curious to see what this tank truck platform looks like. Is there anyone among the users who can send a photo for me to see? How big is a tank truck platform usually? 2. How are things like fire separation distances for this tank truck platform determined? Are there any relevant standards? 3. What are the differences between tank truck platforms, dip pipes, and loading/unloading stations?
Why don’t I see any problems?
Code 4.1.4 requires that liquid storage areas be located separately from loading and unloading areas, as there is a high risk in the event of a tank leak when vehicles are moving in and out or when loading and unloading operations are taking place; the safety distances must be complied with as specified in the code. The term ‘loading and unloading station’ is a general designation; a loading and unloading platform is where the flexible hoses are placed, and these hoses are used to extend to the bottom of tank trucks for loading
A loading and unloading station usually has several platforms, as well as stairs, ceilings, fire-fighting equipment, etc. The platforms are the areas where operations are carried out; steel platforms are generally sufficient, with their height matching that of the loading/unloading ports on top of the tank trucks. Hoses are pipes that connect the external tank to the tank truck; usually, several hoses can be installed at one platform. Different materials cannot be loaded or unloaded through the same hose
