Discussion on an example problem related to yield – Association Edition Revised Guide P11-12, Example 1.2.4-1: In the calculation of the yields for phthalic anhydride and maleic anhydride, according to the yield formula, both the yield calculated based on the mass of phthalic anhydride/maleic anhydride and the yield calculated using the molar fraction of maleic anhydride are incorrect, right? The molecule should be the amount of reactant involved in the reaction; in the example, the mass of the product is used directly.
