Some time ago, the chlorine content in the feed to our unit was above the permissible level, which caused salt buildup in the high-pressure heat exchangers. Recently, there was a leak in the high-pressure heat exchanger used for diesel hydrogenation, with the largest gap reaching 5 centimeters.
Then you need to stop and fix it right away; you can’t be careless!
In situations like this, it is possible to choose to suspend production; the leakage must have occurred earlier on, but it was not detected because the amount of leakage was small. The raw materials mixed with the material that had completed the reaction, resulting in defective products and blockages in the air-cooled heat exchangers, among other problems. The heat exchangers used by our company are from Dongfang Yipeng, and none of them have leaked. Handle the nitrogen purging during shutdown – just weld it in.

There’s a high level of leakage; in the longest section, the leak is 5 cm long – the liquid is leaking straight outside! Is the thread lock ring expensive? Leaks also occur here at the high-pressure exchange points, but I’ve never seen leaks occur on the outside. I’ve seen three sets of devices leak, and in all cases it was the pipes that were leaking, which affected the product quality.
There is no other way to deal with high leakage; the only option is to shut down operations.
