Liquid ammonia storage tanks include pressurized horizontal tanks and spherical tanks, as well as atmospheric-pressure cryogenic tanks. Generally, cryogenic tanks have fixed roofs; are there any tanks that are both cryogenic tanks and internal floating roof tanks?
We are using a spherical tank with a capacity of 650 cubic meters
Generally, no – it’s mainly because there’s no need for it. Liquid ammonia relies on extremely low temperatures to reduce and control vaporization; such low temperatures keep it below its boiling point, making vaporization extremely difficult, which is why internal floating roofs are generally not used. Moreover, the sealing materials used in ordinary internal floating roofs are not able to withstand such low temperatures
