Is it necessary to connect all flanges in the LNG equipment area with static bonding wires?
I think it is still very necessary; otherwise, how can static electricity be discharged? If it cannot be discharged and there are leaks or other such issues, the consequences can be unpredictable
All flanges must be connected to an electrostatic bonding wire. Regarding this issue, I saw it at the TOUR event in Zhenjiang, and I also asked foreign experts present there as well as engineers from design firms; they said that an electrostatic connection using flanges is necessary, as relying solely on the bolts of the flanges to transfer electrostatic charge is not reliable – professional electrostatic wire connectors must be used.
I only know that flange electrostatic connections must be made using specialized electrostatic connectors, but I’m not aware of the specific reason for this. Who has specific documents that support this view?
