I need to construct a steam pipeline at 250°C and 1 MPa pressure, with a flow rate of 20 tons per hour in the main pipeline. This pipeline will then branch into three smaller pipelines, with flow rates of 11 tons per hour, 6 tons per hour, and 3 tons per hour respectively. I would like to ask experts: what specifications are required for the main pipeline and the branch pipelines, and what type of valves would be suitable?
Pipes are very cheap these days, and your data usage isn’t high either; it’s okay to use ones that are a bit larger.

If the pipe diameter is DN200 as you said, a regular gate valve will suffice for the valve. If the branch pipe does not require flow regulation, a gate valve should be chosen; if flow regulation is needed, a globe valve should be used. Electric hard-sealed triple-eccentric control butterfly valves are generally used in pipes with a diameter of DN600 or larger, and these valves are more expensive than globe valves.

I did a simple calculation, and the result is the same as that on the 4th floor. The temperature of saturated steam at 1 MPa is 184°C; therefore, steam at 1 MPa and 250°C is superheated steam, and its flow rate can be increased appropriately. The diameters of the main pipe and branch pipes are DN200, DN150, DN125, and DN80 respectively, with flow velocities ranging from approximately 25 m/s to 35 m/s. If the pipe diameter for 6 t/h is changed to DN100, the flow velocity ranges from 32 m/s to 41 m/s. For valves, gate valves and globe valves are used; there’s no need to use butterfly valves for such a small diameter, as their performance isn’t that good.
