The outlet of the steam control valve for the steam heater isn’t well-designed; placing it at the outlet basically eliminates any possibility of regulation. After heat exchange, a large amount of condensate is generated in the steam, and usually all of this condensate is removed through a steam trap, so there’s no need for any regulation at the outlet
Wouldn’t the regulating function of the outlet valve be useless then? Generally, valves are placed at the inlet, upstream, while various instruments are located downstream
On our side, steam or material in gaseous form is used as a heating medium, and its control valve is located at the outlet of the heat exchanger; The liquid phase of the material serves as the heating medium, and its control valve is located at the inlet of the heat exchanger
That brings me to a question: when steam is used as the heating medium, a large amount of condensate is generated at the outlet. If a control valve is installed at the outlet, the mixture passing through that valve consists of vapor and liquid – how can this be regulated? And where is the strainer located?
