It can’t be said absolutely, but generally, they are quite far apart. The flare is usually installed outside the plant; the straight-line distance between our plant’s flare and the gas holder is approximately 2 km. It is generally better for the gas holder to be located near the plant, while it is not advantageous if the plant is too close to the flare.
There is no inherent connection between the positions of these two; their location depends mainly on various factors such as the layout of the site, the back pressure of the exhaust gases, the source of those gases, and the users of the gas tanks and flares

This linkage has little to do with the location of the gas holders and flares; it depends on the actual conditions of your plant. There’s no need to strive for it deliberately. The torch can be placed outside the factory, downwind; just calculate the maximum amount of radiation emitted, and then use that value to determine the appropriate height.
First, the radius of 90 meters must meet the fire protection requirements; there is also human traffic in the area surrounding the gas holder, so it is necessary to calculate the thermal radiation using SH3009 to determine its impact on people. It is sufficient to focus on these two key parameters. From a process perspective, the inlet for the gas holder should be connected to the main pipeline of the flare system, and generally, pressure drop does not need to be taken into consideration. The operating pressure for gas holders is 3 kPa, while the back pressure in flare pipes is usually 6 kPa. For several sets of gas holders and flares, as long as both meet the relevant specifications, it is advisable to arrange them together whenever possible.
