On July 2, 2015, Inner Mongolia Juyuan Technology Development Co., Ltd. signed a project cooperation agreement for the comprehensive utilization of 100,000 tons per year of coal tar with the Alxa Economic Development Zone in Inner Mongolia. The project plans to invest 1.58 billion yuan, adopting a slurry-bed hydrogenation process technology to deeply process coal tar as raw material in order to produce high-value clean energy products. Construction is scheduled to begin in early September, with operation expected to start by the end of 2016.
The 100,000 tons per year coal tar comprehensive utilization project is planned to require an investment of 1.58 billion yuan. It will employ a slurry-bed hydrogenation technology to carry out advanced processing of coal tar as raw material, in order to produce high-value clean energy products. Slurry bed hydrogenation is a key technology for the strategic upgrading of the coking industry, coal chemical industry, and petrochemical industry. It represents the best method for the co-conversion of heavy oils, coal tar, and kerosene, offering advantages such as strong adaptability to different feedstocks, simple process design, flexible operation, and high conversion rates. Both heavy oil and coal tar contain large amounts of heavy components, and fixed-bed hydrogenation is primarily used for their treatment. However, fixed-bed processing of these heavy components has numerous drawbacks, such as unstable production, difficulty in controlling the process, easy catalyst deactivation, low yields, and low oil recovery rates. This project utilizes coal tar to produce clean fuel products, which not only helps to compensate for the shortage of petroleum resources but also enables efficient use of coal resources, addressing issues such as low comprehensive utilization rates of coal tar resources and severe environmental pollution that have persisted for a long time.
What type of tar is used as raw material? The high-temperature tar produced in coking plants is difficult to handle.
It is said that this project is related to Sanju Environmental Protection. Does anyone know anything about it? Thank you!
Is it Sanju Environmental Protection’s technology? It seems that Sanju Environmental Protection also has partnerships with Hebi in Henan!
According to some reports, the head of Sanmu also appeared at the signing ceremony
