Generally, the installation location of valves should follow these principles: ① To facilitate opening and closing the valves, they should not be installed in places where hands cannot reach them. It should be installed in a location where it is easy to operate with hand switches. ②Valves must not be installed in any location where it is possible to operate them in an unsafe manner, or in areas that are hazardous. It should be installed in a location where it can be operated in a safe manner. ③Since valves can easily become obstacles that cause collisions or trips, valves must not be installed in main passages or inspection routes where there is a risk of hitting one’s head or tripping, especially in cases where valves and switches are operated under special conditions; safe clearance paths must be ensured in such areas. The valve should be installed in a location that does not hinder the operator’s operation. ④For devices equipped with gauges such as pressure gauges and flow meters to indicate the status of adjustments, the valve should generally be placed in a location where these gauges can be seen, so that operators can check and confirm the conditions while simultaneously operating the valve easily. If it is not easy to see the reading indicated by the gauge from where the valve is operated, it becomes very inconvenient to open and close the valve correctly and in a timely manner. ⑤The creation of flow deviation inside the pipe at the flow meter measurement point can affect the reliability of the flow meter; therefore, the valve installed in front of the flow meter must be placed at a certain distance from it. Valves installed before and after the flow meter can easily cause fluid deviation.
Also, when installing the valve, the direction of the handwheel is important. The recommended order is: vertically upward, horizontally, at 45 degrees upward, at 45 degrees downward; it must not be vertically downward.
