There was a project whose owner didn’t fully understand it, so several doctors were hired to manage the project. These doctors had no experience in design work, yet the owner trusted them greatly and asked that the design be modified according to their suggestions. However, the owner took no responsibility for this. The deadline was already tight, and all the arguments and delays resulted in extremely low efficiency; time was spent training these doctors instead, and quality could not be guaranteed. I really don’t know what the owner is thinking – does he even want to complete the project successfully? What do everyone think? What should be done?
What project? How many more doctors? They must be very wealthy; it seems like it’s a sizable project. But this is a typical example of prioritizing academic qualifications – project management is similar to research work; what’s the need for so many doctors?
It’s hard to find a PhD job; one has to work as an ordinary person too.
Projects are practice, not theory. Trusting the doctor too much is worse than not trusting him at all.
Please stay calm, original poster. 1. You are not the owner. 2. The doctor was hired by the owner. 3. Your contract is with the owner; therefore, things become simple. Just make it clear to the owner that the design and construction work are meant for them. If the doctor you hired is acting on your behalf, provide him with proper authorization documents and specify his authority to sign documents. Then he can do whatever he wants, as long as it doesn’t violate any regulations – what does it have to do with you? If the owner hasn’t given permission to the doctor, okay, then it’s even simpler: just tell the doctor to get lost, go as far away as possible. Why bother with them? If training is needed, the owner should pay for it; otherwise, there’s no point in providing any training!
Back then, when I dealt with those doctors, I relied on my experience; often it was 1 against N doctors, and in the end they all ended up being brought under control by me. Chinese doctors are all show and no substance; they often do some bullshit, unrealistic things.
I think by the time one reaches the doctoral level through studying, having read so much, one should understand the vastness of academic fields and know how to respect other professionals. Could it be the kind of doctorate pursued by *** members?

I have worked with some professors and doctors who are involved in projects; they usually do so for research purposes or to gain practical experience, and they tend to operate in a low-key manner or act as consultants – those who directly manage projects are rare. They are good at drawing lessons from experience; by combining practical cases with theoretical insights, they create vivid papers or textbooks.
Generally speaking, doctors with work experience are quite good; they are adept at absorbing new knowledge and ideas, know how to compromise and coordinate, and understand the importance of respecting others. What’s most concerning are those young doctors who have never stepped outside the university campus and have pursued their education there all the way; they think that by working on a few projects under their supervisor’s guidance they have already gained experience in the real world, without realizing how much work their supervisor has done in secret. My cousin is one of those doctors; I once told him outright: Don’t think just because you’ve obtained a doctorate you’re something special and that everyone should respect you. In fact, aside from your supervisor and your academic background, with your abilities, you’re typical of those who have high ambitions but low capabilities – you can’t even handle the basic issues of a project, so what can you do?
A doctor has a certain level of expertise in their own field, but in other fields, they have to start learning from scratch*. For example, someone who specializes in fluid dynamics has to learn about piping systems – how can that be possible?
