Urea price trends across China Author/Source: China Fertilizer Network Date: 2016-08-23 Clicks: 1 There is virtually no demand for urea in the agricultural sector, and there are few positive factors regarding exports. Urea prices are weak in some areas; however, the volume of urea purchased by industrial compound fertilizer manufacturers continues to increase. Given that the operating rate of urea production plants itself is already very low, the main export prices for urea in regions such as Shandong, the Two Rivers area, and Jiangsu and Anhui have increased. Since the weekend, the mainstream ex-factory prices of urea in Shandong region have increased by 20 yuan per ton, reaching 1150–1160 yuan. Sales conditions have improved, and the purchase price in Linyi is… (The omitted details can be found in the member area; same applies here.) ; The mainstream ex-factory prices in Hebei region have risen by 20 yuan to 1,130–1,150 yuan, with an overall production rate…… ; The mainstream ex-factory prices in the Henan region have risen by 20 yuan, reaching 1160–1170 yuan; there is considerable room for negotiation regarding the final price. According to China Fertilizer Network, this is the ex-factory price of a major manufacturer…… ; The overall production rate in Jiangsu region... A certain high-end pricing manufacturer suspended production for a short period before resuming operations after one or two days; the mainstream factory prices increased by 30, to around 1,240 yuan ; In the Anhui region, the standard factory prices have increased by 10 yuan, reaching 1170–1210 yuan. The supply of low-priced goods from outside this region has decreased slightly, resulting in transaction prices trending slightly higher ; Manufacturers in Hunan region have not resumed production; there is no inventory and no quotes available ; After the agricultural demand in the Guangxi region subsided, sales of urea were not satisfactory; the prevailing listed factory prices remained stable at around 1480 yuan. It is reported that large-scale transactions have taken place... Overall, there are still few positive factors on the export side for now. Domestic demand in the agricultural sector has declined, and the increased purchases by compound fertilizer manufacturers have exerted some upward pressure on urea prices in certain areas. The low operating rate of urea production facilities also acts as a supporting factor; therefore, it is expected that prices of low-grade urea in these areas may see a rise in the short term, while there is little room for further increases in high-grade urea prices. Especially since the market shortage is not significant, and some plants that were under maintenance will resume operations soon, the overall situation for urea prices is unlikely to see any major improvements.
