A quite important indicator for a website is user experience; a good user experience encourages users to log in more often, which in other words increases user loyalty. ------------------------ With this latest version update of the forum, some new features have been added, and certain aspects have improved compared to before. I won’t go into details about those. Instead, I’d like to talk about aspects that seem different from what I was used to in the old version. There’s the new posts feature, which is further divided into “Grab the Spot” and “Latest Replies.” It’s not like before where everything was shown together. A problem I encountered is that after replying to a post, it doesn’t appear in the list of latest replies, and the list of latest replies might not be updated properly either. Compared to the old version, I prefer its comprehensive display and timely updates. It was enough to know the number of replies to determine who had posted first; there was no need for a separate category for that. As for the Eta Friends feature, previously it allowed users to interact and solve problems through Eta Friends on the home page, but this feature is gone in the new version – I’m not sure where it has been moved. There are also issues with searching for friends using Eta Friends within replies; many friends cannot be found, possibly due to computer-related problems. Regarding the management bar below each post, it used to be black and could be clicked upon just by moving the mouse over it. In the new version, it’s set to hidden and only appears when the mouse hovers over it. I’m not sure what the purpose of this is; since the management button isn’t immediately visible, finding it becomes difficult, and I don’t think this is a good user experience. Lastly, there were borders between posts before, but now they’re hidden, which makes it harder to locate the management button as a reference point, thus affecting the overall user experience. I’m not sure what the purpose of hiding these borders is Personally, I think this outline is only displayed on the web page; it doesn’t use ink when printed. It would be better if such an outline were available for printing as well. Rating management box: Once the rating management box is activated, the original rating options were displayed by rotating the mouse; in the new version, all options are shown as long as the mouse is inside that area. I’m not sure what the purpose of this change is With this setting, after the scoring is complete, it’s often not possible to click the confirm button; one must move the mouse outside the box and wait for the confirm button to appear before confirming. @zhangqi1234 @ValveMingming @XiaoJie @jacques0920 @ThankfulForYou @MC0323
The first problem has been solved. It’s nice to have the “Latest Posts” option; compared to the previous “New Posts” and “Latest Replies”, it helps avoid viewing posts that have already been replied to and that one isn’t interested in, thus saving mobile data and personal effort. ““Competing for the sofa” is also fine, but that’s not that important; it’s better to refrain from rushing to reply to certain questions and to take some time to think about them.
The latest issue has been resolved; the rating window issue is currently under consideration by the developers. The rest are related to templates; we can switch to a technical template whenever there’s an opportunity
Don’t participate, don’t discuss it; if it works well, use it often; if it doesn’t work well, gradually get used to it and it’ll be fine.
Just accept it; overthinking is too exhausting: lol
With new things, there is always a period of adaptation; over time, issues are identified and corrected. I also hope that the forum won’t undergo major changes; just security upgrades would be sufficient
