Who can explain the differences and advantages/disadvantages between stainless steel 316L and 2507?
It seems that 2507 is a bit better 0.....................

Overall, 2507 is much better than 316L. You can tell by looking at the elemental composition. Generally speaking, corrosion resistance: 2507 > 2205 > 316L
There is a significant difference in price and corrosion resistance between these two types of stainless steel, and they are also used in different applications; when making a choice, it is important to consider cost-effectiveness.
From an economic perspective, if 316 can be used, 2507 should definitely not be used. In terms of corrosion resistance, 2507 is better.
316L is an austenitic stainless steel with an upper operating temperature limit of 450°C and a very low lower limit. 2507: maximum operating temperature of 300°C; not suitable for low-temperature conditions; excellent resistance to Cl corrosion.
316L offers good resistance to pitting; it belongs to the austenitic stainless steel category. If you find many spots on the surface of the original material, use 2507, an austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel, as it provides better resistance to intergranular corrosion. If cracks appear but there is no sign of rust, then this material is suitable. We use 2205 here; actually, using titanium materials is more cost-effective nowadays, as their density is low, and the cost of equipment made from them isn’t much higher.
